EDICOLA DI SANT’ANNA
DESCRIPTION
In the Rione della Rocca, along the road that goes up to the castle, stands the Baroque aedicule, improperly called Sant’Anna. It is an architectural structure consisting of a travertine balustrade that supports a masonry pedestal adorned by two angels and surmounted by two Corinthian columns on which rests a statue depicting the Madonna and Child, a work carried out in the last quarter of the twentieth century by the local sculptor Luigi Fondi, placed in place of terracotta figurines, which have been partially lost. A plaque near the sculpture shows the name of Sant’Anna.
